Free 300 Cantonese Flashcards on Memrise.com 用 Flashcards 學廣東話

If you are new to Cantonese, you may ask yourself these following questions:

Should I learn the Chinese characters first?

Where can I find a basic words list to help me get started?

Is there any way I can learn these words with audio to help me remember them better?

If you haven’t found a solution to these problems, the Free Essential Cantonese words 300 with (native audio) flashcards on Memrise.com can help you right away.

Each card of vocabulary contains Chinese characters, Yale spelling, the word’s part of speech, and a native audio recording.
For questions that require you to type you can type either the Chinese character or the Yale for the answer.

Perfect for reviewing pronouns, nouns, verbs, adjectives, time indicators, connectives, conjunctions, particles, expressions, and colloquialisms.

50 words for one level (6 levels in total) to make sure repetition is enough before moving to new words

What I love about Memrise is how they liken growing your vocabulary to the tending of plants in your garden. Every time you answer correctly you are watering your garden and helping your plants (i.e. your vocabulary) to grow and Memrise lets you know when it’s time to water your vocabulary through its scheduling system.

When playing the games as an A1 learner, it’s probably best to focus on the pronunciation of the word and how the word is written using the Yale Romanization.

If you are trying to learn the Chinese Characters, you can change your focus to picking the answer with the characters, so it will help you with the process of character recognition. Then after you have answered successfully the audio of the word, recorded by a native speaker none other than yours truly, will be played. This will help reinforce your memories of the Chinese characters and their pronunciations.
